All You Bargains

November 2nd, 2007

My cousin’s school was running the requisite magazine fundraiser, so I signed up for an 18-month subscription to All You magazine. I’ve actually never read an issue, so I’m considering this a bargain experiment in conjunction with being a dutiful family member.

all you

What does All You have to do with bargains? I’ve thought about subscribing before because I frequently see it mentioned on bargain message boards. Apparently, every month’s issue includes numerous coupons, similar to the ones found in the Sunday inserts. My first impression of the website is that the content won’t be especially beneficial - it looks like Woman’s Day with coupons. But I’m getting it at a discount from cover price (18 issues for $20), plus supporting a school, so if there’s over $1 worth of useful coupons in an issue, I’ll come out ahead. Look for a future report on my thoughts.

It’s too late to dissuade me, but I’d love to hear opinions on whether All You is “all that” from a bargain perspective.

I have read All You and have enjoyed it. I have several magazines that I have subscribed to but lately am just going to the library and reading or purchase their old ones for 25 cents each. Also you can share a subscription with someone to cut down on the cost.
I will come back to your blog soon. Enjoyed it!

    Here from Frugal Hacks…

I bought All You a few times from Walmart. I found though that I was forgetting to use the coupons. I use The Grocery Game and of course the list tells me what coupons to buy. I would usually forget that I had a pile of magazine coupons in the drawer so they went unused. So for me, the price ($1.77) wasn’t worth it.

    The articles are eh…

Not great writing by any stretch of the imagination but worth a flip through.

The content is All You is definitely not not groundbreaking, but I do enjoy some of the articles from time to time, especially the decorating ones. However, the coupons are definitely worth it. Most are for things I don’t buy, like carpet cleaner or processed foods. But there are always at least 3 or 4 for things like laundry detergent, Soyjoy bars, etc. You should get your money’s worth!

I did exactly the same thing! My friend’s son is selling magazine subscriptions for school and I wanted to help out. I’d read about all the great coupons in All You, so I thought I’d accomplish two things - help the little boy and get some coupons!
